Poem - A Lion Has Become Old, Poet - Md Mazharul Abedin
A Lion Has Become Old
Md Mazharul Abedin
A lion has become old
His body has become cold
In front of his den does he lie
Other animals carelessly pass by.
They do not bow down
They do not honour his crown.
They do not fear
To come near.
Alsa! he cannot catch any head
Today there is no dish of flesh on his bed.
It looks like an empty sack.
His belly has stuck to his back.
King of the forest is too helpless
No lioness is their to bless.
Kings in the museum should be preserved
A full stop to the crown is deserved.
