A Mirror of Quiet Recitation, Poet - Mustafa Moin, Bangladesh

A Mirror of Quiet Recitation
Mustafa Moin, Bangladesh

The day you became a stranger,
I withdrew into myself; I stripped away
My flesh and bones, the core of my chest—
The heart and all of it, just for you.
In one swift tear, I shed my skin,
And inside my own emptiness, escaped as the wind.
Perhaps I was never human at all,
But a poem on a stormy night,
A mirror of quiet recitation.

Translated into English by Shikdar Mohammed Kibriah, Bangladesh
