Women's Activities in Water Conservation

Dr. Manoranjan Das

Ex Head Master, Advocate of High Court, Researcher, Poet, Writer

          As it is said that people used to be breadwinnered of the house hold, it is the women who keep the water on the table. Informing the fact that women have always

been overweighted with water collection and management at the houeshold level, at Jal Jeevan Mission has set to strengthen on attaching women as decision-maker on water management, as role well that has been denied to them. The most importance is to empower the decision makers through this mission attaching women in both upfront activities in the Village Water and Sanitation Committee through portation as well as systematise them to complele backend activities such as tending the water purification.

        Access to water has been the role of human development from the old stage to recent idea of the country-state. A cursory glance at the best old civilizations such as Nile Valley endows that they have grown and extended on the side of river. The same has been seen true in India where the Idus Valley Civilization shows the very name from the river that was its life-energy.

        While it used to be clear to think that as we develop incorporate more science into our day to day life, the imposition we have on use of water sources would alleviate, this almost has not set true. It is not related that eight of the ten largest cities in the earth are seen next to the coast. The UN estimated in 2017 that 2.4 billion people live within 100 km of the coast. To put into that area, the nimbet of people living within 100 km of the coast in 2017 is equal  to total population of the earth on 1950.1

         It is to say clearly, women are the powerful idenity whose sense organs are attributed to the force through their mentral outlook for  conservation of water. Thus , by giving the importance of women, a sonnet may be added here,

'Women create the happiest nation with their

Powerful activities and they are the spirit

Of men, by helping deeply to them with proper

Form and feature from their own; that's their asset.

Women preserve water, ah! as box of sea

Where a significantful

News and stories are stored in tact, where ray

Of day's sunshine can not enter into the norm, full.

With profound respect and education to women,

A country can reach to the highest fame

And goal where domes

of achievement are to strengthen

And their motherland can achieve glory by name.

Women are the wave of good deeds; that's known,

As their wombs are too carrier of children.' 2

            Really speaking, as the population of the world incresaed in high rate,i.e., the world population in the last century has gone to nearly trippled; the pressure on limited pure water started to rise. The UN in 2010 thought that over 800 million people really live without approach to 'improved sources of pure drinking water'. Therefore, they told that almost a billion people have to accumulate their water from afar unprotected sources. Clearly speaking, the burden of water accumulation in water divested households drops down on theshoulder of feminie gender. It's true that in 80 percent of this types of  households, women and girls are under stillness for the collection of water from afar water sources.3

        Moreover, the results of weather change such as heat, droughts, and extreme weather events do it more likely that women and girls would go even greater distences to just see their basic water demands. In this regards , it could be told that while the masculine genders  might be the breadwinners of the consumers, it is the women who keep the water on the table. Occasionally, the repercussion of this weight is left by the girls and the youth women in the form of loss of education and decrease in enrolment rates. Extensively speaking, the water preservation is  extremely urgent for self-illuminating as the concrete spirit is realised to the people's survival.4 Thus, a sonnet is added here in this respect,

'Save water as it's our life and it runs

Into reality through solemn thought , referring

With truest sensation

and you must, at once,

Rotate your feeling for other's modifying.

Preserve water in every day's job

Whenever you've the capicity to yourself

And circulate this idea into the mob

Fom your core-zone and it's the work of Himsrlf.

Use water economically in day

To day a activities and you habitate

Properly and make to understand to pray

To your neighbours then and there and it's correct.

Water is source of life and living beings;

Water is urgent in every aspect of life's reelings.'4

             Aside from true courage of malnutrition and the fatility of water borne diseases, lack of access to pure drinking water has other socio- economic results. This can be seen in the matter that a one- hour reduction in time taken to accumulate water has a drastic upliftment in enrollent rates for young girls in schools. There is an urgency to tackle the injustice to water security to develop the lives of the generations of India, but there must be a presentation of the plight of women and youth girls who are particularly vulnerable due to eater insecurity.5

           As a rule, it is to say that it was a great step towards informing the pressure as inadequate water supply owes on wommen. Moreover, regarding the preservation of water women also collect it from rains. Thus , a poem,

' Here is the sound of rain,

You may be gretted from it to get knowledge;

You must deposit it from your own,

If the moonlight calls with love

You may be waved yourself with delightfulness through water drops;

From rain you motivate yourself to preserve water.'6

         Truly speaking, the the policy and rule  imposed that it is to order to design all relevent programmes on water management taking in mind that women are the proper and main stakeholders.7

        Purely speaking, the  water preservation is actually witnessed to the mode of self-loving-wills and this is correctly related with women. Regarding saving water , an idea may be added,

        'Saving water is not only related to external activities but it is really acted to the attainment of love where  women are positivated alwayas.'8

        The Indian Government has been careful that there is a wider need for government aid to different areas and different sections of society over there's , and an emphasis has been given to villages in drought-prone regions. It is to say, 'Women are the department of water preservation , by loving to save tb humanity that is a heavenly job.'9

          Through the process of becoming water conservation, women are physically and mentally as dert through wholeness as  road to survival of family members through their consequent consciousness. Thus , it is to say,

        ' With the self- consciousness, women , consequently, motivate themselves, overall, for preservation of water with their day to day dealings'10

          The government is conscious that it will upgrade through existing programmes that will attempt to improve access water , it will implement several steps that will go beyond

somply structures. Therefore, giving emphasis on water, a poet writes,

       ' Here is humanity to save water

And here is the consciousness too;

For this , we are alive;

And water is life for all.

Let men live by water;

And everyone conserve water always.'11

       On the whole, it is said authentically, that the community of women has a major role for preservation of water for saving a family, as well.
