River in My Mother's Heart
Hyun Dal-Hwan (South Korea)
My older brother was a baby
He died young
May be,
My brother's soul wouldn't have gone to heaven.
A rainy night
My brother's soul left his body
I went to the river of sadness in my mother's heart.
That soul must have been submerged in the river.
On a rainy day
On a bright moon night
I can hear the sound of water flowing in her mother's chest
Like an auditory hallucination

মায়ের হৃদয়ে নদী
হিউন ডাল-হোয়ান (দক্ষিণ কোরিয়া)

একটি শিশু ছিল আমার বড় ভাই
সে অল্প বয়সে মারা যায়
হতে পারে,
আমার ভাইয়ের আত্মা যেত না স্বর্গে।
একটা বৃষ্টিভেজা রাত
আমার ভাইয়ের আত্মা তার দেহ ছেড়েছে
আমার মায়ের মনে দুঃখের নদীতে গেলাম।
সেই আত্মা নিশ্চয়ই নদীতে তলিয়ে গেছে।
বৃষ্টির দিনে
এক উজ্জ্বল চাঁদনী রাতে
আমি শুনতে পারি তার মায়ের বুকে জল বয়ে যাওয়ার শব্দ
শ্রাবণ হ্যালুসিনেশনের মতো।

Poet Hyun Dal-Hwan is a Korean author, editor and poet. He was born in Jeju city of South Korea in 1965. He is a member of The Jeju Writer's Association. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Korean World Literature Association. He is an editor-in-chief of NewsNjejuial Which is Online News Paper in Jeju City, Korea.
