Affection
Gargi Saha (India)
Feelings cannot be seen
But realised
The mother kangaroo
Feeds her joey, little one
Nurses her with her milk
So do other animals mother's
Care for them till
They are independent, can fly
And can build their own nests
But human mothers
Give birth, caress, nurture
Upbring, teach, guide
Soothe, guard, safeguard
Children throughout their lives
That makes all the difference
Of a human mother
And other creatures mothers.

অনুভূতি পাওয়া যায় না দেখতে
কিন্তু উপলব্ধি করা পারে যেতে
মা ক্যাঙ্গারু
তার ছোট বাচ্চা জোয়িকে খাওয়ায়
তার দুধ দিয়ে তাকে সেবা করে
তাই অন্যান্য প্রাণীর মায়েরও সেবা করো
তাদের যত্ন করো
তারা স্বাধীন হওয়া পর্যন্ত, উড়তে পারে
এবং নিজেদের বাসা তৈরি করতে পারে
কিন্তু মানুষের মায়েরা
জন্ম দেয়, আদর করে, করে
লালন-পালন, শেখায়, পথ দেখায়
সান্ত্বনা দেয়, পাহারা দেয়, নিরাপদে রাখে
শিশুরা সারা জীবন ধরে
যে সব পার্থক্য করে
একজন মানুষের মায়ের
এবং অন্যান্য প্রাণীদের মায়েদের।

About the Poetess
Ms Gargi Saha was born and raised in Pune. She has been scribbling poems since her childhood. Her poems have been featured in National and International Journals, Anthologies, newspapers, webzines like The Contemporary Vibes, Bizz Buzz, Poet, Poetcrit, Fertile Brains. The Starlite Cafe etc.She has authored two independent poem books namely, 'The Muse In My Salad Days, ' and 'Letters to Him ' which has won her remarkable poetic acclaim.Recently she has been honoured by the Rabindranath Tagore Memorial Award and the Independence Day Award for poetry. Presently she edits several scientific research papers.
