Poem - When She Heard His Whistle, Poetess - Dr.Omatee Ann Marie Hansraj (Trinidad and Tobago)
When She Heard His Whistle
Omatee Ann Marie Hansraj
When she heard his whistle,
Excitement was overwhelming,
She would keep staring at the door,
Heart in rhythm, pulse quickening more.
That moment she knew,
Daddy's home now,
Her face lit up so bright,
Her smiles shine even more.
Time stood still in that quiet space,
Anticipation lit her face.
Every note a promise, clear,
Of his presence drawing near.
Hopeful moments, joy profound,
Whistle's echo, a cherished sound.
Love's sweet signal, pure and bright,
Filling her with endless light.
