I DO NOT WANT AN EMPTY LIFE
Alondra Gutiérrez Vargas
Costa Rica
I do not want an empty life.
Time, you who forgets everything.
Subtle, perverse dreams,
wounding without love.
Life on pages of agony.
Eden’s light does not err.
Kill the forbidden odes.
Invoke the right to life.
Before, I saw nothing.
Peace, sun, diverse colors.
The whole world goes mad.
Without life, without light, without verses.
MESSAGE TO MOTHER EARTH
Alondra Gutiérrez Vargas
Hello Friends of the world.
Ladies, gentlemen, children who will be the future:
I invite you to join my message.
Come with me.
Let us say with one voice...
We come to celebrate. We come to ask for forgiveness.
Forgiveness, Mother Earth, for every river we turned into emptiness.
For every forest we cut down to sow oblivion.
Forgiveness for every species we erased from the book of life.
For every bird whose song we silenced.
You gave us our first breath... and we suffocated you with screams in the smoke of despair.
You gave us water from sea and river.
And with filth we sacrificed your soul.
You filled our tables with fruit while our hands left your roots burning.
Each morning you covered us with the pale sun of your joy, searching for hope.
Who loves like this? Who forgives by surrounding us with green hands!
Only you, Pacha Mama.
Unique Mother, Mother Earth, you forgive us, you love us, you wait for us.
We want to be dressed in gala with a heart without mourning.
We no longer want to wake up late.
We need to see your landscapes, your Amazon body, your sky, your glaciers.
We do not want to hear your lungs dying.
We do not want more corals to die.
Every time we wound your soul, your light of blood goes out.
We thought the earth was ours, but truly we are yours.
You are the cradle of children.
We will care for your nourishment of river.
We will see with you the air with its trees, your dreams with stars.
Only together will we be able to see the present of a new era that will make us shine in your shelter... where our descendants will welcome you... *Mother Earth
Decree of Madness and Passion
Alondra Gutiérrez Vargas
When your name brushes my lips,
my silence catches fire, my prince.
I don’t ask permission: I invade your chest
with a kiss that tastes like a kingdom and delirium.
You are a crown on my brow and a storm in my blood,
the command that breaks all my rules.
I lose myself in your shadow like one who drowns
and still I swim, because in you I find myself.
Let the world burn if you look at me like that,
let protocol tremble, let desire scream.
Because if it’s madness to love you ravenously,
then lock me away...
but with you inside.
