NO MORE UTERUS 

Edy Samudra Kertagama 

Sleep to your heart's content tonight, because to me, you are darkness that never stops crying over your own body. 

Maybe you could refuse with the word "no" but not with the light in your eyes that I see starting to dim, because there are thousands of idiots that you perpetuate. 

So for that reason, go home to where you came from, and don't try to deny it, because if you want to, there is no longer the light of the full moon that can bring you home, let alone the cool breeze because you are no longer air. 

Oh, if I knew this, since roses grew in the yard, I would not ask for you with prayers, because for me you are no longer the womb that I saw behind the window curtain of the house I built.

BIOGRAPHY: 

Edy Samudra Kertagama 

As a poet, actor, director and Declamator [Poetry Reader] Invited to National and International literary-theater meetings. Since 1979, he has directed and staged 124 theatrical performance scripts by both Indonesian and international authors with Kuman Theater Studies. He has been invited to various literary meetings including: 1. Rumahitam Andalas Arts Forum (RAAF) and Sumatran Writers Gathering (TSS) Batam in 2008. 2. Nusantara Poets Festival Sempena The2 Kediri International Poetry Gathering, Kediri in 2008, 3. Indonesian Poets Festival Medan Poetry Competition in 2009. Invited to the Nusantara Poets Meeting and Festival held at the Language and Library Council, Kuala Lumpur and Rumah PENA Kuala Lumpur in 2009. 2016 International Literature Seminar at Gajah Mada University. Apart from writing poetry, essays, pantun and stage scripts, Edy Samudra Kertagama is also known as a theater director and actor, he has conducted explorations and various performances with his Kuman theater which was founded in 1979.

His single poetry books are: Kering (1997), Nyanyian Sunyi (2002), Sajak-Sajak Pendek Embun Putih (2004), Mantra Sang Nabi (2016), Kereta Gandeng dan Sajak Burung Rajawali (2019), Senja dan Gerimis (2024) Arutala (2024), Rumah yang Kubangun (2025). No less than 30 Anthologies with his poems published both at home and abroad.
