The Echo Never Fades
Omatee Ann Marie Hansraj
I carry you in silent steps,
In morning light, in twilight’s breath.
The echoes of your voice remain,
A soft refrain through loss and pain.
The world still turns, though changed it seems,
You're stitched into my waking dreams.
Grief once wrapped me like the night,
Now dawn breaks through with gentler light.
I do not seek to dim your face,
Or banish time, or leave no trace.
But I have learned to let you be
A lighthouse in the storm for me.
Your memory is not my chain,
But steady ground through wind and rain.
Each challenge now, I rise and meet,
With borrowed strength beneath my feet.
The past is not a place to stay,
But where my courage finds its way.
You live within the steps I take
Each breath a vow I will not break.
So I move on, but not alone,
Your love the seed that I have sown.
Through every loss, a lesson grows
The echo never fades, it glows.
