Poem - Never Forget the Hands, Poetess - Omatee Ann Marie Hansraj (Trinidad and Tobago)

Never Forget the Hands

Omatee Ann Marie Hansraj

Never forget the hands that held you,

Guiding gently as you grew,

That raised you high through storm and sun,

Their strength and love in all they've done.

Never forget your mom and dad,

Whose voices soothed when you were sad,

Who dreamed for you with hearts so wide,

And walked with you through every tide.

Remember too your roots run deep,

With memories you’ll always keep

Your grandma’s laugh, your grandpa’s grace,

Their wisdom time cannot erase.

Your uncle’s cheer, your aunt’s sweet care,

The love that’s always waiting there.

Your big brother's protective pride,

Your sister always by your side.

Your older cousins, cool and wise,

With stories, secrets, shared goodbyes

These are the hands that shaped your way,

The ones who taught you how to stay.

So never lose what love has sown,

For in their hearts, you're never alone.
