Poem - The Wisest Fool, Poet - Prof. Dr. Gazi Abdulla-hel Baqui (Bangladesh)

The Wisest Fool
Prof. Dr. Gazi Abdulla-hel Baqui (Bangladesh)

I am the citizen of my country and the universe as well,
Still then I am the master of a microcosm,
Here in my circle I know everything and many things, too.
I know the world truly transitory
A zero base exists today, is extinct tomorrow.
This is fragile life, a rolling dew drop,
Greening a blade of grass or no, vanishing.
Thus go the civilized and uncivilized living.
Keeping nothing back I relate this tale,
You are a real witness of what happens.
Why should we ward off the inevitable reality?
Man is created worried, and broken he goes.
Fading into insignificance like a convict with conviction. Making weapons and hoarding wealth I preserve my humanity--
Do not pose a threat and harm to the rest?
I beget bleeding hearts and wailing eyes
What a clear irony I am consciously aware of!
Man is born not for any other cause, the sterilized bluff,
But for death -- and only for death-- this is true,
Save a virtuous few, who on earth are not wisest fools?
