Time And Silence in ILA DAS' Poetry
Dr. Manoranjan Das

Ila Das, the great poetess of Bengali literatue and  English literature in abroad,   positivates her idea with poetry that time and silence shape human existence by offering profound spaces for healing, reflection,  and personal growth, she reviews insight on mental restoration through the   guide to silence and explore deeper concepts on time's perception via frontiers in psychology. She intakes her idea that morning rows  to happiness through good mood. Thus, she writes,

'It is the morning of development ,
What do I want unitedly in this morning ,
You live with happiness in education, health into wide in good mood.'1

It is to say widely that healing and perspective of time that softens emotional pain and allows difficult situations to change, and,  it gives us the space to learn, mature, and achieve our goals step by step. She , the  great poetess endows that horizon , referring the assistence of gearing the appearence through the light where the fulfilment of greenness is owed to kindness and   the spiritualness is widened to splenderness with full attention. Thus, it may be added,

'You are the horizon of hearts, referring
Necessary part of poetic assistence,
Where the circulation of good gearing
Is lengthified with norm of appearence

Your existence works as balm for washing
Away pain from the wounded mind where the zone
Of peace is cultivated for smashing
The demon of darkness to enlighten.

You're path of fulfilment for greenness ,
Intensifying with blessings  of kindness,
Where the proper adequate spiritualness
Is to be widened for the splenderness.

Your distinctness is organised for men
Where you stand with your will with full attention.

It's to say clearly that the resource of time and silence are into cause  which moves forward and never returns, and it teaches us to focus on what matters most, and  stress reduction, in short periods of quiet lower blood pressure and reduce tension in the body.  She has the stormy of wind in her mind where moments are mingled with the dying afternoon where the destination's norm is rough and uneven. Thus, she writes,

'It's the dying afternoon ,
Where do  you go. O, stormy wind in speed !
The moments are mingled into the sky.
The sun sets in dying afternoon ;
The future is counting moments at might,
And the destination is very rough and uneven.'3

Ila Das feels that mental clarity in  silence calms a busy mind, sharpens focus, and helps us to solve problems creatively, and, better listening and
staying quiet lets us listen to others carefully and build stronger, more honest relationships. She feels that time is heedlessly is to me with waste years.
Thus , it may be added,

'There are no fragmants so precious as those of time, and none are so heedlessly lost by peoole who can not make a moment, and yet can waste years.'4

Referably speaking,  poetess Ila Das knows that the psychology of people, by empowering the spending time in silence has been found to have positive effects on the body in terms of reducing blood pressure, boosting the immune system. She, caring with self touches the greenness through running into life. Thus, she writes,

'Taking into himself, the unwanting has a touch on body, I hide myself, at all.

I run to catch the greenness into my hands
And running, I reach to the end of life.'5

Properly saying , she  carries into herself that silence is important because it can sharpen focus,  reduce stress, it can boost mental and physical well-being , and, supports physical healing .  Ila Das has the gathering in her mind with the sweet memories, attaching with corners of thought where beauty is worldified. Thus, it may be added,

'Then the memories are gathering in the depths of our minds
And painting on the canvas of the mind
Free goings and comings of sweet memories
Of the fenchless world were running
On the eyes and mouth of wire-fench
A sky-cloud of depression fell,
He and I looked at each other with a chestful sadness
on our lips' corners
I thought if these fences weren't there,
How nice it would be
How beautiful the world would be.'6

Totally speaking, Ila Das supports that the silence with time can have many health benefits, including, physical benefits, by lower blood pressure and decreasing  decreased heart rate , teady breathing and reducing  muscle tense. She owes to see the sunshine, taking to mind that sunshine is saved throgh the surroundings by grasping the loanliness. Thus, she writes,

'Then I see
the golden sunshine is saved out.
The surroundings are locked by darkness.

The life grasps the loanliness.'7

It's to say that moments and atmosphere , relating to silence are the fleeting, lived experiences and the emotional or sensory feelings of a space, and they shape how we feel, connect, and remember our surroundings, and
sensory clues owe to light, sound, and scent, by building the invisible mood of any place. She thinks that silence is a virtue with feeling and understanding. Thus, it may be added,

'Silence is the virtue of those who are deficient in underdtanding.'8

Ila Das broadens a group to create collective feelings through shared actions and energy,  by noticing the current surroundings that turns simple time into a real experience. She greetifies herself into dewy grass in dawn with the song of birds in the horizon. Thus, she writes,
' The greeting is laid down on the dewy grass.

Into the sky of dawn,
the time is into the the rising sun at random ;
The song of bird is into the horizon now,
They are into rush with moments.'9

Notwithstandingly, she is in computing the moment of inertia that may be taken as the height of the center of gravity of the atmosphere, which is known as well. She knows the anthropology of atmosphere which is the study of the over all feeling of a situation that people have gathered experience individually and collectively. She adhers , associating with the consciousness where the vaules neutrally true with scientific silence. Thus , it may be added,

'If life becomes a equation, then all its values depend on consciousnss. As everything becomes relative at the speed of light, at the speed of consciousness we find the neutral truth of the soul. Perhaps , one day , science will recognise that consciousness is not merely a chemical reaction in the brain but  an idependent energy field.'10

Ila Das, a retired school teacher is a well-known national and international writer who writes in Bengali and English languages. Her many writings are published in many magazines. She has written 06 books. She received many prizes in literature. Among those 'The Academy of Bengali Poetry', awarded by 'National Library of India', Govt. of India is renouned one. She is B.Com., B.A., B.Ed..

Pointing to the idea of atmosphere in time and silence, Ila Das has the moments' suspension,  despite all the ephemerality we've just mentioned, likes to give itself a timeless air, as if frozen in time. She has the  going on wintry days, by grasping sense of dews. Thus, she writes,

'Without friends, who goes afar with wintry grasping into his will!
The dews are died when the sun rises!'11

On the whole, poetess Ila Das has a pure sense of poetry where time, silence through moments and surroundings are encircled about.
