Poems of Xhuli Spahiu (Kosovo)
Year’s End
Xhuli Spahiu
The year now closes with gentle pace,
With tears and smiles time can’t erase.
Moments remain too deep for words,
Memories felt, quietly heard.
From our mistakes we learned to grow,
From pain we found a clearer glow.
Each fall taught us to rise once more,
With faith within and hope in store.
We leave behind the weight we bore,
Forgive ourselves, and open doors.
With softer hearts and fearless eyes,
We face tomorrow, strong and wise.
The new year comes with light so near,
With dreams made clean and courage clear.
May it bring peace, good health, and cheer,
And start each day with faith sincere.
Sunday Arrived
Xhuli Spahiu
Sunday arrives like a gentle breath
upon the tired shoulders of the week,
like a hand that does not ask,
but understands.
The city speaks more slowly today,
the streets take a deep breath,
windows open like drowsy eyes
searching for light, not haste.
Coffee is no longer just coffee
it is an excuse to pause time,
to listen to the thoughts
we usually postpone for tomorrow.
Sunday asks for nothing,
no victories, no grand plans
only your simple presence
in this quiet moment.
And perhaps,
in its soft silence,
it teaches us without words
how to be a little more
ourselves.
