Peace And Imagination in Richard Doiron's Poetry

Dr. Manoranjan Das

The background and depth of Richard Doiron's poetry carries the system of words and thoughts through realistic philosophy where widening of ethical and transformational dimension of theme's magic is channeled to the mind of readers with the persuation of peace and imagination. Therefre, the pleasing and spontaneous condition and situation are principalised with passion through soul's will as a norm of mission , bearing fruition to heart. Thus, he writes,

'Peace is my passion
the thing I extol
linked in it's fashion
my soul to your soul
Peace is my mission
the thing I impart
brought to fruition
my heart to your heart.'1
It's to say authentically and clearly that Richard Doiron knows, peace and imagination are deeply intertwined, as imagination is the 'moral imagination', necessary for peacebuilding, enabling individuals to envision solutions beyond existing conflicts, foster empathy, and create new social paradigms for harmony and mutual understanding. Thus, it may be added,
' Imagination allows one to perceive hidden connections, 'see what cannot be seen,' and develop creative approaches to complex problems, transforming cycles of violence into possibilities for a peaceful future.'2
He, the contemporary great poet, Richard Doiron feels that peace will not stay in outward way , but it is kept into mind by driving away the bitterest pain and sorrowfulness; and peace in mind shows from acquiescence by exception from suffering. He has the measurement to pursue the greatest treasure through sharing gladness and glory. Thus, he writes,

'Peace is my measure
the thing I pursue
greatest of treasure
for me anb for you
Peace is my story
the thing that I share
gladness and glory
as near as my prayer.'3

Properly speaking, Richard Doiron addresses and sustains with his thought where human instinct is run to parallel natural world
, owing to spontaneity of expression. Thus, a poem on him,
'You are the road to
                 humanity
Where the sparkig of
                  wellness
Is projected with sheer
           delighting.

O, Richard Doiron, you are intrepeter of time and truth with deep shinning projection of goodness.'4
Richard Doiron, Canada's peace poet , has been working in print for 60 years. He published hundreds of anthologies, perodicals, personal books. He is an author of novels, biographical works, essays and lyricist.           Reliably speaking, Richard Doiron knows,
imagination is the ability to see a future that doesn't yet exist, providing a path forward beyond the current realities of conflict. He knows, a core aspect of moral imagination is the ability to 'feel into' another's experience, promoting empathy, resonance, and a deeper sense of interconnectedness. He has the ownness with free and renewed revision, by freshening the shadows of looming where imagination defines with future moments , and beaconing actions and transcendence, at all. Thus, he writes,

'Imagine tomorrow free
                for anger,
A world renewed for
           revisions made,
Clean of shadows looming, where
Our progenies know a
        perpetual peace.
Imagine the hold that we
             have which
Defines that future day,
         this very moment
Our actions transcending the rhetoric,
Perchance becomes and
           not belligerent.'5
Richard Doiron accepts  that  imagination helps to uncover and design new models for co- existence, and , by using metaphor, imagery, and storytelling, imagination can reveal the underlying essence of a conflict and help parties to see new possibilities for resolving issues.
Thus, he quotes to his heart,
'The human race built most nobly when limitations were greatest and, therefore, when most was required of imagination in order to build at all. Limitations seem to have always been the best friends of architecture.'6
He, the great poet Richard Doiron asserts that imagination allows for the envisioning of a world with 'enemies' as part of a larger web of relationships, moving beyond dualistic thinking and fostering reconciliation. He intakes the sake of reason, consciencing with the vision of vanity through willingness where transformational power is wooed with solitary song that tells to tolerence. Thus , he writes,
Imagine the potentials
         to be realised
But for the sake of
      reason over rancour,
Our conscience over
      calamity concord
The end result of vision
            over vaniety.
Imagine the willingness
          to wonder
The trasnsfomational
          power wielded
In a single solitary song
             wherein
Tempo tells in tolerence
          over tyranny.'7

Notwithstandingly, the pioneer and modern poet of Canada, Richard Doiron freshens the mode of poetry , carrying the significance
of theme and thought where peace and imagination are touched fully the mind of readers, as well.
