Poem - The Plea of the Innocent, Poet - Dr. Ashok Kumar
The Plea of the Innocent
Stop! Stop! War, the world does cry
A plea that's echoed, through the corridors of time and sky
The drums of death, they beat no more
A call for peace, a world that's free to adore
The guns fall silent, the cannons cease
A moment's pause, for the tears to release
The mothers weep, the children cry
A world in pain, a heart that's torn apart, why?
The wars and strife, the hate and greed
A cycle of pain, that the world must seed
But still we hope, for a brighter dawn
A world that's kind, a world that's reborn
Stop! Stop! War, the earth does say
A plea for life, a world that's free to stay
Let love and peace, be the guiding light
A world united, in the pursuit of what's right
The future beckons, with a hopeful sigh
A world that's free, where love does fly
Stop! Stop! War, the heart does cry
A plea for humanity, to reach the sky.
