Attachment or Love, Harmony, Peace, Nuture and Women empowerment in Alondra Gutierrez Vargas's Poetry

Dr. Manoranjan Das

Alondra Gutierrez Varga, the modern poetess of Costa Rica widens her idea that attachment or love  provides a vital foundation for early development by creating security, trust, and social skills, while love is a more complex emotion that fosters mutual growth, support, and a desire for the other person's happines. Thus, she writes,

'Today I am loving with peace...
She came travelling through my DNA,
Making soliloquies with my soul.
She came to make love with letters...
That is the reality of things ...
She wants us to feel her in every verse.
She wants every words to be a caress.
Every verse a kiss.
Every rhyme, a moan of yours and mine

She became music, lyrics and poetry
To communicate but we don't listen,
Because we're deaf and almost human.
We stripped her little by little
Untill I took away her wings.
We tied her with wars of ambitions,
Religions, colors of races,
Concepts that darkened minds.
We earsed her slowly from children's
dreams.
We removed every garment from  her invisible body.
We buried the charms of her freedom and loyalty.
We took away the skin of hope.1

Moreover, she has an adherence that the significance of attachment lies in its ability to provide a liberating and fulfilling emotional connection, whereas attachment, if unhealthy, can lead to a restrictive and conditional bond centered on personal needs and possessiveness. Thus, she writes,

'We stopped feeling ...
We stopped doing it...
We stopped living each day
To start the war of the centuries in a single day.
We built walls with too much distance,
We lost moments of love
That will never come back for our generation,
Because we never thought of those  who would come after us.

Peace cries and asks :
Is there time for a new encounter with the human race
Or is it already too late?
She knows that ambition  for power
And selfishness created kilometers of death.2

She postulates to her mind that
attachment or love is especially between a  baby or a person and caregiver, is biologically ingrained and crucial for survival, and, it provides safety, security, and a template for future relationships. Thus, she feels,

'This early bond teaches children  and men about trust, empathy, and communication, shaping their ability to form bonds throughout their lives.
       ........................
The need for attachment is inherent in humans, and when it's not met properly, it can lead to issues like insecurity and difficulty in forming healthy relationships later in life.'3

Artfully speaking, she illustrates from herself that love or  attachment is characterized by a desire for the other person's happiness, not just your own, and, it involves making efforts to see the other person feel love, and, true love or attachment is often described as a liberating force, allowing both individuals freedom and growth, unlike attachment, which can be entangling and restrictive. Thus, she writes,

'We can feel for our dead
Burning inside us.
Without pain nothing is the same.

We need happy children
Learning to create a new world
For our Universe.
We need kisses and caresses...
We need tenderness for the sick,
Tables full of food for families.
We need work to provide for the unprotected .

We need humanists who protect rights,
Rescuers who dry the tears for sacrificed animals,
Abandoned in the unconscious darkness of the merciless.'4.

She , the great poetess, Alondra Gutirrez Vargas  perceives that love or attachment is enduring through challenges and is focused on the other person, while attachment can be conditional, self-centered, and focused on what the other person does for you.
Thus , she writes,
'We need prayers of the deathbed
When humanity hurts and ends.
Peace wants to live with us ,
Wants us to ask for miracles...
Peace wants to feel the skin of freedom.
To hear the voices of joy
Walking through the streets.
She does not want cry over shatter of bones ,
Wait with blood.
She tried to being silent,
Waiting for dream of immortals .
She does not want burning flames
With war cries where nothings left.'5

Invariably speaking, Alondra Gutierrez Vargas of Costa Rica deepens her thought that harmony and peace are significant because they are

essential for a society's survival and development, fostering stability, prosperity, and a higher quality of life for individuals and nations, and, they enable the resolution of conflicts, reduce violence, and promote social justice, leading to a more productive and united world where individuals can achieve both personal and professional fulfillment. Thus,
she feels,

' Peace and harmony are a precondition for social and economic development, as stability allows for growth and prevents the loss of life and resources due to conflict. Harmonious societies are more stable, united, and productive, which attracts investment and tourism, leading to  be Achieving a state of inner peace allows for mental and physical serenity, leading to better decision-making and a more joyful, satisfying life.'6

Totally speaking, she entranced through idea that peace or harmony is closely linked to social justice, as it requires addressing inequality and promoting the fair distribution of resources, ensuring everyone has accessed to opportunities. Instead of hostility, peace fosters the ability to resolve disputes fairly through diplomacy and understanding, creating long-lasting solutions. Thus, she writes,
'Because even hunger dies of hunger!
Peace does not want to hear speeches
With unfulfilled promises.
She does not want to live in silence and gloom.
She wants to wake up  in craddles
With white sheets of joy.

Only we can make her real...
Only we have the power
To make her so white
That her reflection is oil on our almost blue sky.
We can make her breathes.
We can give her encouragement
And oxygen with letters, song and poetry,
Until our bodies, tired to fighting
And giving love join her
And Peace feels the power of out soul...
Through our action.'7

Gramatically speaking, Alondra Gutierrez Vargas reflexes her feelings that peace and harmony are a basic prerequisite for the survival and development of mankind, and, they can bring a peaceful and stable order to society.  Thus she writes,

'Until in a birth cry
And laugh forgetfulness,
We become those angels we once were ,
To achieve the perfect encounter
And eternalise our race.'8
Truthfully speaking, Alondra Guiterrez Vargas' poetry extends really for society's development through love and peace.

She also loves nature and natural beauty. She has  expressed her fondness of nature  in her poem 'Nature Vortex' -

What can I say about you Mother Nature?
Talking about yourself is wonderful and easy.
You came to me before my DNA existed.I already
Brought you in my dreams like the wings of a walking sea
With the sounds of whales, dolphins and the serenity of ancient turtles.
All blue, all green... turning my tears into coral crystals.
It is so simple to love you and at the same time walk
With wonder the edges of your forests and take care of your animals.
Nesting in your belly was majestic, because you have always been my home.
I found my name embroidered in every detail of your beauty
That dies and is born every day to give me life.
I can't finish naming you in the normal everyday life.
What can I tell you, if you inhabit me completely?
If a single day without you is a day that I die! 9

She also expresses women empowerment, equality, humanity etc social issues. She has focused these in her poem 'Epic of a Woman' -

Epic epic of dreams, weeping earth, when it should be dancing to long and flowery verses.
Silences that must not silence the songs of boys and girls.
Hexameter, which must crown all women.
Flag of social justice and equity.
Social prose awakening consciences.
No more narratives of extensive transcendental actions, where life doesn't return home.
Where memory isn't lost to immortalize each heroine in press releases.
Women who are life and pay with death, being innocents who wear themselves out in battles, virtues and esteem of sequins.
Angelic Seductions
where the love that cannot be bought is idealized, because the madness of the aggressor who
overthrows identity with a femicide perfumed with a smile and lipstick of hypocrisy has washed his hands and soiled his conscience.
Support for a woman who emancipates herself, to raise her voice against the weakness of all systems.
Mutilated bones, a skin suit descending to earth.
Meanwhile, there are houses with tears and a sky that collapses, demanding judgment...
We no longer want dead women.
We don't want empty homelands, wearing black dresses and white dresses with lace trim and songs of indifference! 10
