Poem - Life Is Like Water, Poetess - Nina Stepanova (Latvia)

Life Is Like Water
Nina Stepanova
Latvia

Life on earth is like water,
It rushes, it leaks.
That is the calm waves,
The one that crashes on the rocks...
That is a fine noisy brook
Along the cascades of pebbles...
That is unobedient, at the break,
Flying down the waterfall...
That will suddenly make you mad
To the point of vertigo...
That will wash out the pebbles at the bottom,
Bursting with excitement.
Life is like cherry water:
And foamy and angry.
And leaves the shore,
As if he is looking for salvation...
She rinsing after herself
All sorrow and anguish,
Wasting time behind the water
Putting myself in her arms.
Inexhaustible well
It flows, does not plead...
And the one who once drank it,
Drink to the max.
Life, to the unknown, of centuries.
Striving century after century -
She is wanted all the time
To earth and to man.
