JUST FOR THE MONEY

Like the town crier;
Drumming his message,
I'm the livid ancient parchment.
Read aloud,
Each of my letters,
As engraved for men,
Who's enslaved by money.
Just for the money;
Men killed one another,
Had sex with one another,
And Women had sex with dogs.
Just for the money;
Debtor killed his lender,
Criminals robbed the street.
Just for the money;
Father used his wife,
Mother used his son,
Man used his parents,
Friends used one another.
Just for the money;
Leaders sold his followers,
Lawyers perverted the law,
Priests foretold fake prophecies,
Doctors prescribed the wrong drugs,
Kings pronounced the wrong verdict.

Just for the money
Man betrayed the gods,
And neither love nor peace,
Sited, at the temple-heart of man.

MYSTERY OF THE SUN

Each day you appear
rising high in the sky
lighting the world with your beautiful golden beams
you're magic enveloping the darkest night

Your arrival in the morning
brings visions and hope to the souls of men
even the plants are embraced

No cloud can obstruct your light
for you're the sun
that the clouds never see

As you reflect, refract, and disperse beams in magnificence
like a droplet of a rainbow

~You give life to Mother Earth.

With your smile, the night drifts away
as you gleefully glide heaven
racing from the East, kissing the West

You came in the season to dry up the ocean
made the huge iroko tree shed all its leaves
I keep wondering if you're the custodian of hell

Up above the blue sky, you are,
always on an unstoppable journey
a naked flame
In solitude, you dwell
You are a blessing to each break of dawn.
