Poems of Damburudhara Behera (Odisha, India)
The Echo of My Pain
No one could understand
My feelings my shifting mood ----
The echo of my pain
Returned as silence, not as you again
When you turned your face away,
You became a curse I couldn't pray.
I searched for you in every place,
But never found a single trace.
You hid behind a silent cloud ---
The rain fell soft, yet cried aloud.
My eyes, like skies, began to pour ----
Tears I couldn't hold anymore.
Where can I go to speak,
My sorrow, my burden, my ache?
To whom can I turn, or run?
Where must I go to find the Sun ?
To find you. To feel you.To be whole
No one understands the toll.
No one has ever seen you near-----
Only the echo answer here.
And even that, I hear in vain----
The echo of my pain..... again.

In My Language
In my language, you are my heart,
My copyright, my precious art.
You are my coffee bite so sweet,
A taste of joy I long to meet.
The lightning of light in darkest night,
You shine with incredibly beauty-bright.

In My Mathematics
In my math, you are my addition,
My answer to every life equation.
You're my multiplication — love grown wide,
My subtraction when you're not by my side.
Yet, you remain my indivisible one,
A mystery under every sun.

In My Love
In my love, you are my heroine,
My queen, my crown, my valentine.
You are my heartbeat, steady and true,
My honey sweet, my morning dew.
You are my mint, my perfect fit —
In my world, you’re every bit.

You Hold Me Close
One day will come
We will meet
There will be no one
Remain only our light.
Don't try to fight
Oh my sweet beloved
Let's go to be cherished
To be a bright.
We shall fly our love-kite
Over and over the sky
Though we lack might
Our eyes will meet briefly.
Fingers will touch so warm
In your embrace, I will find my form.

Hearty Miss
Oh ! My Hearty Miss
Listen to me
I am having difficulties
Don't forget me .
It gives me pain and pain
When you slay my heart
Up and Down my foot
Don't let me alone.
I assure you that I shall never miss you
Till the end of my life
Oh ! My Hearty Miss, come you ,come you
I am waiting to stay safe
Seeing you again
Without feeling pain.
