In Autumn
Lim, Shin-young

In autumn, I shall love the autumn itself,
Hold its abundance deep within my heart,
And even love the winds that come and go.

In autumn, I shall be steeped in longing for you,
You, who have journeyed with me through the long years—
In this season, your image rises ever clearer.

In the richness of autumn fields, there dwells longing too,
The footprints you left behind, ah, they are your love.
In the shadow of moonlight, I shall cradle and keep you close.

In this autumn, when thoughts return to the one I miss.

As I Ran, I Found It Was Life
Lim, Shin-young

Everyone seems to live by taking on one challenge after another.
Each of us appears to be heading in a slightly different direction.
You who are going this way must be thinking much as I do.

Oh, but I go my own way, and you go yours.

After a long journey, we may no longer be the same.
Let us not lose the courage and joy with which we first set out.
There will be difficult moments along the way.

If you have never stayed the course in anything, it is hard to earn recognition in in the world of society.

I wonder where people find the time to pause and look around.
When I stop and look back with you, I realize that we were all given
the same race to run.

Life.

Where My Footsteps Rest Today
 Lim, Shin-young

Tossing and turning through the early dawn,
I gently open my eyes from a light sleep.

I welcome the excitement of today,
and I love the presence of you within me.

Amid the sounds of a rough and restless life,
I sit quietly by the window,
where the fragrance of coffee drifts through the air.
With the brief gift of rest, I wait for a cup of freshly brewed drip coffee.

I smile at the green outside my window,
and meet Leisure as an old friend.
The city awakens around me, while a poem circles softly in my mind.

I like today.
