In the Whirl of Nothingness
By Professor Dr. Mostafa Dulal
Poet, Writer, Educator and Literary author
Life drawn in dust fades beneath wild storm,
Dreams still bloom, despite the circling storm.
Time flows on, like rivers softly glide,
Birth sings loud, death waits in silent tide.
Breaking buds first greet the morning light,
Roots stand firm through deserts, day and night.
What we hold soon slips beyond our hand,
Glass-like life breaks in a silent land.
Lanterns rise and paint the smoky sky,
Masked smiles hide where truth is running dry.
Clay-made bodies, mist-like lives we bear,
Dreams seek stairs that vanish into air.
Though we march, our shadows call us back,
Ants soon fade along the dusty track.
Thoughts touch skies, yet feet embrace the ground,
Empty snares pull every climber down.
Think at last, nothing alone will stay,
Empty hands watch life just drift away.
