RAINBOW
Listen children! Do you know?
How does it make a colourful rainbow
When light travels into a droplet
Just like a prism, it causes a rainbow
Listen children! Do you know?
How many colours are required to make a rainbow
Seven colours are needed to make a luminous rainbow
These are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and indigo
Listen children! Do you love rainbow
Yes, I know you love rainbow, I also love rainbow
Because it gives colour in our life
To glow all the times like a rainbow

About the Poet:
Dr. Perwaiz Shaharyar is an Editor and a trilingual (English, Hindi and Urdu) poet, short story writer and critic from India. He is Graduate with English Honours from Ranchi University. He has topped Jawaharlal Nehru University in Masters with Literature. He was awarded Doctor of Philosophy for his Research Work from University of Delhi. He is Post Graduate Diploma holder in Calligraphy, Mass Media and Book publishing.
He has written more than 100 poems, participated in many worldwide webinars and published in various international anthologies, so far. His as many as 25 poems have been translated by many award-winning litterateurs in Polish, Indonesian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and Albanian languages. The anthology of his 40 selected poems ‘The Burning Boat’ containing mystic (Sufism) and metaphysical elements was published in November 2025.
He has bagged many States and National Awards and accolades for his literary works. His more than 200 articles and research papers have been published. He has a total of 15 published books, 2 each of collections of short stories and collections of poems, 5 books of criticism, and 4 books of translation from other languages in his credential and 2 Children’s Story books. His one children's storybook has been published by a premier organization National Book Trust, India. His collection of 12 stories for children is ready to print from India.
Furthermore, his anthology entitled “The Burning Boat” was published in November 2025 which is available for sale in Amazon.
