TASBIH
1.
No flower like you.
Even the thorn
on my father’s grave —was you.
2.
I mastered one science:
forgetting you.
3.
If only once
I could thank them
and pour water on their hands…
4.
I didn’t cry for you —
nor for myself.
I just read my fate.
5.
Before dawn,
a rooster cries:
“Let there be light.”
6.
Worms eat the earth.
My soul says:
I am soil.Sweet soil.
7.
My mother’s lullaby —
my soul flies,
my body crawls.
8.
Long unseen,
I breathe,
and breathe you out.
9.
A fly drank my blood.
But blood
can’t kill blood.
10.
A potted flower —
no scent,
no vine,not even a fly.
11.
You, my friend?
When did an ant
carry an elephant?
