Rivers overflow their banks
Houses are demolished
Cars swept away
By the raging waters:
Man has disrupted nature.
In vain
Wisdom’s warning words
Would a chip, implanted in the brain,
Offer more wisdom or even more blindness
And indoctrination?

About the Poet:
GERMAIN DROOGENBROODT is an internationally known poet, yearly invited at the most prestigious international poetry festivals. He is also translator, publisher and promoter of modern international poetry. He wrote short stories and literary reviews, but mainly poetry, so far 17 poetry books, published in 31 countries, honoured with dozens of international poetry awards. As founder of the Belgian publishing house POINT Editions he published eighty collections of mainly modern, international poetry and organised and co-organised several international poetry festivals in Spain. He also set up the internationally greatly appreciated project Poetry without Borders, publishing twice a month a modern poem from all over the world in more than 30 languages. Germain Droogenbroodt visited countless times the Far East which left deep traces in his philosophical poetry. The Chinese pretend his poetry is Taoist and ZEN. The Indian publisher Thachom Poyil Rajeevan compared his poetry with the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore. Germain Droogenbroodt has been recommended in 2017 for the Nobel Prize of Literature.
