The Essence of Honour

Pakistan

Near a desiccated pond, a swan contemplates its eternal fate,

To linger here is my soul’s immutable decree,

To stray would betray this consecrated place,

Loyalty binds me to this tranquil abode,

Breathing life or death into my very essence,

Even as creatures commune with parched grass,

Yielding milk, a tender benefaction for humankind,

Humanity’s demands dictate life’s expansive domain,

Regardless of one’s merit in the grand theater of the world,

True recognition arises from virtuous deeds,

No endeavor is inherently insignificant or grand,

Each imbued with purpose, resplendent with intent,

Within the loom of thoughts, threads weave their narrative,

Mastering noble causes, elevating our spirits,

Those who endure life's searing crucible,

For honour's sake, they eternally strive,

Immortalized in the glowing embers of time's continuum.
